Tell us how Taco Medic came to be?

It might not come as a huge surprise that it started after a surf trip to Mexico. After Ant got back he was missing the fresh flavours and simplicity of grabbing a daily taco.

We originally started life from our Food truck, but within a year we had graduated to a small central store and after a meteoric rise on Trip Advisor we could hardly keep up with demand.

One day a guy walked in and said we were making the best tacos he’d ever eaten and asked if he could help us roll out a bunch of Taquerias around Australia and New Zealand.

We said yes.

What led you to Loaded?

We had heard from a lot of people in in the game that Loaded had solved a heap of operational problems for them and was a good way to go if you wanted to make life easier.

We liked the sound of that and after spending some time with the team at Loaded we pretty quickly realised this could be our key operating system for reporting and managing the team and our cost of goods both now and once we have a lot more stores.

Where is Loaded delivering you the most value?

Once we got the key parts of the Loaded hub implemented it’s given us the chance to hand off the day to day Operations to one of our team, and allowed us to focus on finding new locations for stores and some of the bigger picture stuff we need to get nailed.

We can do this and still have a firm eye on how the current Taquerias are performing and know in real time if anything is not as it should be.

It’s fair to say we aren’t missing having to spend our time making complex spreadsheets that never seemed to work properly!

Where should we be keeping an eye out for your Taquerias?

We’re going to be building out town by town and city by city in New Zealand and then Australia. Those of you in the far north should start to see our Taquerias opening pretty soon and then we’ll have to keep you posted as we look to build out in other locations.
